Description
The Valley is a living mountain-like structure with irregular stone facades and greenery. It consists of three towers of 67, 81, and 100 metres tall. The building envelope is a juxtaposition of a full-height glass facade and a carved-out irregular stone facade. There are two external stone staircases that provide access for everyone to the green valley located on the fourth and fifth floors. The facade incorporates 6m cantilevered balconies, terraces, planters, and decks of varied shapes and sizes without compromising daylight and natural ventilation to the internal spaces. The cantilevers are achieved by highly engineered and customized eleven steel “special” components that are directly bolted to the concrete building. The internal layouts have hashtag-shaped structural walls that support the building’s structural system. The landscape helps in creating a certain microclimate and supports a biodiversity of more than 271 young trees and shrubs and approximately 13,500 smaller plants. The greens are maintained by an automatic irrigation system called the “facade gardeners”.
